About Baby Blankets
1. How often do you see a baby without a baby blanket? If the baby is still new to the world, chances are, not very often. Considering how a newborn loves to be swaddled and kept warm, baby blankets are pretty synonymous with babies. You rarely see one without the other.

2. Another thing about baby's and their blankets is that they need more than one. We all know, where babies are concerned, things can get a little messy. Any new parent will be grateful to have a stash of ultra soft baby blankets at their disposal.

3. Parents-to-be often prepare for baby, or nest, by decorating a nursery and filling it with everything baby will need. Many nurseries have themes and you can bet there's a baby blanket theme to go along with it. Whether you're looking for an animal baby blanket, a floral baby blanket, a jungle baby blanket, or even an insect baby blanket, you're sure to find one here.

4. If you don't find baby blankets that suit your nursery's specific theme, chances are you'll at least find a baby blanket color that will work. We've set up our baby blanket selection to be shopped by color, giving you another way to find just what you need.

5. Keep in mind that while most nursery themes offer a matching baby blanket, it's really not a good idea to have these blankets in the crib while baby sleeps. The safest sleeping environment for your baby is in a crib, on a firm mattress with a fitted sheet - and nothing else. Blankets, bumpers, stuffed animals and pillows are deemed unsafe as the pose a SIDS risk. Drape the baby blanket over the rocking chair or somewhere that's safe for baby until they're old enough to sleep with a blanket in the crib.

6. It's a good idea to have baby blankets in a variety of sizes and weights. For instance, flannel baby blankets, or swaddling blankets are a must-have when you have a new baby coming home. Ask the nurses at the hospital, or a seasoned mother, to show you how to swaddle baby nice and snug. You'll want to know how since it could be the difference between a good sleeper and a baby who doesn't sleep much at all.

7. A plush baby blanket or fleece baby blanket is another must-have. These baby blankets are great for tummy time on the floor or just for a good snuggle with mom as baby gets a little older
