CELESTRON: ALL-STAR ACCESS

Celestron celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2010, marking half a century of innovation and achievement in bringing the best optical equipment to anyone who leaning skyward. In 1960, Tom Johnson of Valor Electronics built a 6-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope for his sons, eventually parlaying his hobby into a full-time business and adopting the Celestron name. He created the first affordable production method for the Schmidt corrector plates that make catadioptric telescopes possible, revolutionizing the optical equipment available outside the laboratory. In the 50 years hence, Celestron has undergone an evolution of both business and technology that has allowed to company to continue to produce the highest-quality, most advanced telescopes and optical equipment on both an observatory and backyard scale.

Today Celestron telescopes are revered by NASA, Popular Science, and just about everyone who's used one. Hooking new recruits to stargazing with the Celestron AstroMaster line of affordable reflector telescopes, the amateur astronomer can grow with the brand they know and trust, upgrading to the iconic orange tube of the Celestron NexStar SE series and again to the Celestron CPC telescope series. The company also continues to bring new entries in GPS- and connectivity-based products designed to allow people to bypass difficult astrolocation and get straight to the good stuff. The Celestron SkyScout allows anyone to point and click to identify over 50,000 stars, planets, deep-sky objects, and more and makes a perfect companion to a telescope of any size.

As a manufacturer, Celestron refuses to let any of their knowledge and means of production go to waste, making a wide range of telescope accessories and other optical designs, binoculars, weather instruments, microscopes, and more. Celestron eyepieces and telescope filters are made to the same exacting standards as their counterparts, and offer viewers the ability to expand their collection and observational ability without the cost of an entire telescope. Celestron binoculars put high-quality components to use on a smaller scale, forming optical equipment that fits in the hand for astronomical or terrestrial viewing.

Celestron is as passionate about astronomy and optics as their wide and active customer base, and enjoys being a part of their lives. When purchasing a Celestron telescope or accessory, you become part of a community of elite equipment owners and cutting-edge riding scientific observers. We're proud to offer this iconic brand at the best prices on the internet, and look forward to offering Celestron products to everyone who shops at Hayneedle.com/Celestron/.

What Satisfied Customers Are Saying about Celestron

Great view when the wobble stops.
By Jeremy from Wichita, KS on 4/27/2014
Overall this telescope delivered. I was forced to buy a Celestron eyepiece kit because the eyepieces that came with the scope were sub-par. Once you get an object like Jupiter in view its fantastic, but be careful of bumping the telescope as the unsturdy tripod will shake for a few seconds. Focusing is difficult because of the wobble but a steady hand could compensate for that.

Good...but want more
By Jim from LINCOLN,RI on 6/30/2014
This is a good telescope. Easy to setup. Little trouble with alignment, but most likely my mistakes. Returning for 8 SE.

Makes a good eyepiece even better!
By Andrew from LINDENHURST,NY on 6/2/2014
Nice construction, however the screw feels a little cheap so be careful, This will make a 32mm eyepiece perform like an 8mm but not with the small eye relief you get from an 8mm. Do the math first, make sure your scope can be useful at the correct magnifications. No case included, just top and bottom caps in a cardboard box. Very happy with this item overall.

More than we expected!
By Millie from MORGANTOWN,WV on 5/26/2014
My son purchased this as a birthday present for his sister (my daughter). She LOVES it! She has used it every evening/night since receiving it. The "bundle" with the various lenses, added to and increased the excitment and joy of locating stars and planets. It is computerized and motorized, it will find and track objects in the sky at a touch of the controls. It is great to use during daylight hours. It brings in distance objects with surprising clarity. With its many features it will allow for many hours of gazing, mapping, and photography.

A Great Value for the Package
By Marcus from CLOVIS,CA on 6/23/2014
Clear field of vision when using for general long distance viewing. Definitely need a tripod setup for stargazing, but really magnifies for the casual/amateur user. Not uncomfortable to hold, but probably not suitable for long use without the tripod.
