The bed looks just as good as it does online and it's sturdiness is impressive. My daughter loves it, she chose the white finish to offset pretty pink walls and she is very satisfied.

I ordered this bed because I wanted a canopy bed, but didn't want one that was austere or impersonal or childish. This bed has such a beautiful, warm whimsy to it! It looks just like it does in the picture. It was delivered about a week after I ordered it. It arrived in three separate boxes: one which contained the headboard and footboard, one which contained the frame, and one which contained the canopy. I was able to lift all three boxes individually without any help, but the box with the frame in it is the heaviest of them all, and I had to take at least one break when lifting them. (Side note: always lift from your knees, not your back, and don't be too proud to ask for help!) All the necessary finials, screws, bolts, and washers were included, as well as an allen wrench, which is needed for the footboard. I was able to fit all three boxes in my Ford Taurus when I let the back seats down. I assembled it with the help of one other friend, and we got it all put together in about 2 hours. We only made one mistake, which was to confuse the headboard and footboard. The only difference between the two is that the footboard has two extra screw holes on the back of the leg. Correcting the mistake only took 10 minutes. One other moment of uncertainty happened when we were putting on the finials. The finial is already constructed for you, but as I was fiddling with one, I unscrewed the ball top from the base. It was quite difficult to fix, but was indeed fixed in the end. This was not a fault of the manufacturer, just of my jittery need to mess with things in my hand. So, lessons: make sure which is the headboard and which is the footboard, and don't fiddle with the finials!! We have added some sheer curtains on the headboard and footboard, and it looks so wonderful and airy. The construction is solid (we did ensure that everything was nice and tight after we assembled it), and I have not noticed any squeaking or creaking. When I put on my box springs and mattress and pushed the mattress all the way to the headboard like I like, there was about three extra inches of space at the footboard. This does not bother me, nor does it feel like my mattress is going to slide around (this could just be that my mattress/box springs have non-slippery fabric on them). Although I have only spent one night in the bed, I was extremely pleased with how it slept, and I loved waking up with that canopy over me. I felt like a princess. I believe that the bed will deconstruct nicely when I move, as long as we haven't tightened anything too tightly.
