This item arrived ahead of time, just in time for the 4th of July. That impressed me. Made me smile. Setup was quick and easy including the solar lights. The Umbrella itself is lightweight, functional and attractive. The umbrella was a great value and I would purchase it again.
pretty good for the money

It's not heavy duty, but it's not $400.00 or $1000.00 either. I anchored mine with deck screws. There is one hole at one end of each leg (in the raised area of the channel). I drilled a hole in the other two ends and used 3" screws, then drilled two more holes in each end (in the lips of the channel that contact the deck) and used 1 5/8" screws (totaling 3 screws toward each end of the legs) into my 2x6's. Seems to be anchored stoutly that way, but haven't had it long enough to test the anchoring job. But, for a wood deck, I think it to be better than weights on the lips of the legs. Unlike the picture here, all the legs are equal distant (the base is centered and not offset). The umbrella shades two big lounge chairs completely at high sun. The curved arm pushes the shade a foot (at least) from the support structure, so a narrow deck might be a tight fit. All controls and adjustments work easily as intended, but this is a new umbrella for me and, therefore, cannot speak to durability. Looks good enough though. The instructions were found lacking for someone that hasn't had this type of umbrella before, but the pictures help where there is confusion in the literature. There were only 4 metric bolts (with washers-2 were missing), which is used to install the legs to the support structure and then two knobs to tighten the pole that goes into the base for height. That's it; the rest of the components are altogether. Umbrella hangs straight down only, with no adjustment for angle.

the umbrella it's huge and provides great protection from sun and light rain. At the moment I am closing it after use and picking it up if it will rain heavily or if it's going to be very windy. I wouldn't recommend this umbrella left open all season. Fabric is thin and it wobbles with the smallest wind. We secured with extra screws to our deck for added stability.
