Comments about Canon 15x50mm IS Image Stabilized All Weather Binoculars:
I've had a set of the Canon 15X50 stabilized binoculars for almost 10 years, and love them. I notice that several of these reviews complained about the Canon repair service, and also about the lack of lens caps. I had to send my pair in for repair several weeks ago - they were getting moisture inside the front glass. Canon replaced the whole front end of the binocs, cleaned them inside, and checked them out. The whole bill, including shipping and handling, was around $250, and I had them back within two weeks. Also, the complaint about no lens caps is not really valid. Those two big pieces of glass you see in front aren't really the lenses - they are just two pieces of plate glass, evidently to protect the actual lenses, and can be easily and safely cleaned with any soft cloth.
And, use lithium batteries - I understand these will last much longer than regular AA's.

Comments about Canon 15x50mm IS Image Stabilized All Weather Binoculars:
Live on waterfront. Enjoy watching activities on the water. Have Canon 12x36 IS as well and find the 15x50s just as easy to use. I am 77 and small yet I do not find these too heavy as some have claimed.

Comments about Canon 15x50mm IS Image Stabilized All Weather Binoculars:
I use these binoculars in a variety of ways: sky gazing, nature watching and in a unique application, because I am involved in emergency medical services, for ready warning placards on all types of vehicles...from a real safe distance. This is where the stabilization feature has been extremely useful.

Comments about Canon 15x50mm IS Image Stabilized All Weather Binoculars:
These Binoculars are great for stargazing, except they can get heavy. I don't think you will find a pair of 15x that aren't heavy. It would be great if Canon gave you a set of quality lenscaps. At least you can screw on a couple uv filters to protect the front end. Overall I'm happy with them enough so that I just bought a pair of Canon 8x25 IS
