About 2 Day Designs:
Some 800,000 oak barrels are produced annually, many of them ending up in gardens as planters, some are simply destroyed. 2 Day Designs estimate that they have saved approximately 15,000 barrels from this ultimate end. From wine racks to occasional tables, they have developed over 50 items for this collection. Many of the products bear the branding and vineyard handling markings, as they were used in wine production.
Color variation, distressing, and wood character are key elements in this handmade furniture line. 2 Day Designs prides themselves in enhancing wood's natural character with hand distressing, sanding, and seven different finish options. Circle saw marks are welcome! Some of their barrel products may even have visible numbers or writing on them from their previous lives in vineyards. Just like them, their products have a story to tell. Each product may vary slightly from the images shown. This is simply due to the nature of the resources. Reclaimed resources sometimes appear to have "imperfections," these are unique product characteristics. It is part of each item's story. They have become repurposed.
2 Day Designs is proud to continue their recycling heritage that began in 1993. It began with countless reclaimed white oak wine barrels, shipping crate pallets, and sawmill off-fall. They are proud of their record and commitment, and they ask for your help in protecting America's precious recourses whenever possible.
