About Paricon
Paricon is a family-owned and -operated business that began manufacturing sleds in 1861 in South Paris, Maine. Henry Morton and his wife Lucilla began constructing and decorating sleds by hand in their home. The company grew throughout the early 1900s. What was then called Paris Manufacturing (the forerunner to Paricon) supplied the sledges for the Admiral Peary Expedition to the North Pole and a follow-up expedition by Donald MacMillan in 1914. The company's long history in the sled-making business continues today with its commitment to quality craftsmanship as its offers an array of sleds, snowboards, sliders, inflatable tubes, and toboggans for wintertime fun.

Comments about 54 Inch Flexible Flyer Sled:
I bought this sled for my father (58 years old) and he loved it. The Sled is rated up to 400 pounds and they mean it...Dad and my brother got on it (over 400 pounds together) and a bolt came out, but they were able to fix it. It's nice and big enough for two adults. Fun in the snow!

Comments about 54 Inch Flexible Flyer Sled:
The runners are 0.5 inches wide. The sled looks very nice but also seems to be a little flimsy. I have only used it a couple of times and it held up very well.
The sled was great for going downhill on packed snow. I was also able to tow my son and wife on snow prepared for cross country skiers.
However, when when my wife tried to tow me (180 lbs) on the same snow, the sled would sink in. When I tried going downhill on a freshly made slope, the sled would sink in.
