Description
The oversized round posts of this chair give it a traditional look that goes back 100 years when frames were carved by hand. The seat and back are woven in Tenn and provide long lasting comfort and beauty you won't find on any other rocker.
About the Hinkle Chair Company
Buying a Hinkle rocking chair means you're getting a time tested design that will last for generations. For five generations, since 1834, the Hinkle family has been making quality hardwood furniture in the same location in Springfield, Tenn. What started with ladder back chairs has evolved to include rocking chairs, and since 1932 the Hinkle family has been producing chairs full time. By 1948, Hinkle Chair Company had 16 full-time employees that could produce an incredible 200 chairs per day. By 1996 Hinkle Chair Company built two new facilities to keep up with production. They are now able to meet the demands of the rocking chair market as well as offer new and exciting products.

This is the second time I have sent this Hinkle rocker as a baby gift. I have bought other rockers that were in tatters in short order. This rocker is sturdy, very comfortable and tall enough for my old knees to get up and down with a baby in my arms comfortably. My kids love them.

The chair is of good quality for the price, looks nice when done...seems bigger than the stated dimensions (although I have to remeasure it now that it is done). The instructions that came with for assembly were not for that specific chair, my husband spent four hours putting this thing together (and he is quite adept at these things). He ended up using vice grips to pull the legs to match the holes, and it worked out but it was very difficult. If you aren't good at this type of thing, and you don't have the tools that are required, I don't recommend purchasing this chair.

The chair is of good quality for the price, looks nice when done...seems bigger than the stated dimensions (although I have to remeasure it now that it is done). Design of this rocker is all I expected, however, the finish color is not even close to the chair as pictured! It's a lot lighter in person and although I know that different pieces of wood take stain differently, it was somewhat disappointing. I love the size, feel, and sturdiness so I am keeping the chair. The assembly was not as easy as some of the reviews I read, but we eventually got it mastered! I am mostly pleased with the chair, but would probably think twice about ordering anything else from Hayneedle.

I feared the Hinkle Adult Rocker-Rush Seat would take up more room than I had planned for it, but it's size and comfort make it just right for the space. It's a great place to sit watching TV, reading, visiting with friends (they love to sit in it!), or just relaxing and rocking.
