I received my hutch on time and it was really really simple to put together. All the predrilled holes fit perfectly and each precut piece was perfect. I think it took about 15 minutes from when i opended the box until it was completely put together. My rabbits liked it a lot. I just ordered two more today. Best buy i have made in a while. By the way, it was freezing cold so i assembled it in the house then took it outside with no problem. I plan on buying three or four more next month. I was actually surprised at the ease and quality of work.

Upon opening the box and taking inventory I found small pieces of the two back panels broken off. Looking further one was missing the long wooden piece that runs the length of the back. It had been floating around in the box on it's own. The small tacks that held it in place were completely bent and twisted. So I had to remove them altogether and use model airplane wood glue and my own nails to fix it. It's still drying. So be sure to have vice grips, glue and nails on hand.

The back panels are not predrilled,so have a small drill bit on hand as soft wood does split easily.

And as many have said it's very thin wood- I believe cedar due to the smell upon opening. Which really isn't good for small animals- actually it's quite toxic in large quantities. But the wire does provide plenty of ventilation. I am using this for quail, which it will work well for. I however DO NOT recommend using this for rabbits over a few pounds. I have a californian and put her in it just to see how it would work. It lacks complete structural integrity for ONE rabbit of her size.

The heart latches are for decorative purposes and would not be even remotely predator proof. So if you're using this outside or around cats be sure to replace them.

The wire is actually decent. It's similar in gauge and structure to dog crate wire. However it doesn't line up flush with the front of the cage on the pull out.

The drop pans- in the photos show built in handles. On of mine did NOT have those.

Overall I do like the design, but it is very cheaply made.

It would be quick to put together if pieces weren't broken.

Packaging needs to be improved as does quality assurance for this product.

I'm going to copy it and use better quality wood which will add to the weight of it, but also the durability. With a better wood it could be used to support the weight of rabbits.

Comments about Advantek Duplex Rabbit Hutch:

-cheap wood that feels like 3 pieces of paper put together
-the tray for the bunnies to relieve themselves in is about an inch under the wire floor
          - wire floor is weak so when my bunny stood on it it was walking right in the tray
          - complete garbage of delivery, it came with a huge crack on one side of the hutch and a big chunk of wood ripped off the other side like it was thrown around on the floor and jumped on
          - Do not buy this

Comments about Advantek Duplex Rabbit Hutch:

I was excited to purchase this two story rabbit hutch, but upon arrival, I was quite disappointed. It is not suitable for outdoor use(not that I wanted to use it outdoors; I have house rabbits), is quite easy to break and the instructions were not very helpful at all. After putting the hutch together, I found that the nesting/hiding area was not as pictured in the photo on the website. In the photo, the dividing wall goes all the way to the floor of the cage, and has a nice rounded entry to the nest area. What I got was a square, L-shaped piece of thin wood that did not go anywhere near the floor of the cage. I ended up leaving them out because I was worried that one of my rabbits might try to crawl under the divider, get stuck, and get hurt trying to escape. By the way, the wood used is so thin that I think that my bunnies will have chewed their way through it in the next three days if I don't stop them somehow. I'm thinking of fixing some chicken wire to the inside, but I may just put them back in the cages that they were in before. Very displeased that I have to spend more money to try to fix this, as I don't feel that I can retun it because they did not mis-represent the cage in the discription (plus, my bunnies have seriously chewed the inside area.) It's just so cheaply made. Plus, in this case, you truely get what you pay for.

This cage is a joke. Put ours together and it's so cheaply made. The wood is cheap and I am afraid to put it outside so I have it in my garage and the urine keeps leaking out of it somehow
