Comments about Algreen Castilla 50 Gallon Rain Barrel:

Most of the rain from the downspout flows over the opening when there us heavy rain We have better designed ones from Woodland Direct but they are discontinued. Also no hook to hold the hose.

Comments about Algreen Castilla 50 Gallon Rain Barrel:

I wanted to have something tasteful in my yard. We are remodeling our house and needed 4 rain barrels. Once I received this in the mail I knew I had to have another. The color is great with drought resistant plants.

      Customer Q & A

      7 Questions About This Product
Q: "Is the spigot brass or plastic?"
A: What a durable Rain Barrel! The Castilla Rain Barrel has a plastic spigot.
Q: "I live in the Chicago land area -- do I have to bring this indoors for the winter?"
A: The manufacturer recommends that you drain the water out of the barrel in the winter in order make sure the barrel has a long lasting life.
Q: "How can you connect two barrels together? Where I have one of my barrels just a little rain and it over flows so I would like to connect another on to it?"
A: This is a very versatile rain barrel. You can connect this rain barrel to another barrel by using the piece on the back that stick out. Use this to attach the barrel to a second barrel.
Q: "How do you attach the guttering to the rain barrel?"
A: This barrel is very easy to set up! Please follow the instructions that I have provided below.
Q: "Does the Algreen Castilla 50 gallon have a screen over top so that mosquitoes cannot get in and lay eggs?"
A: Your rain barrel will be protected from mosquitos with Screen Buard that goes on top of the opening. Not only does it keep musquitos out, but it also keeps out leaves and sticks.
Q: "Is it free standing or attached to a downspout?"
A: It is recommended that the Rain Barrel be placed under a downspout because the hole in the top is measured for a downspout.
Q: "Is there a lid that comes off for cleaning if that were necessary?"
A: The Algreen Castilla Rain Barrel unfortunately doesn't feature a lid. The top does have a screen guard in order to keep the leaves and sticks out.
