Okay, my husband is deployed so I had to figure out the instructions. They only give you a diagram. After the inital confusion of how to get the glider brackets on, construction was a breeze. 1hr total time. My tip is USE the STABLIZING BOLT to put your cams in. Really helped out bunches. And a flash light to make sure you are lining up the bolts with the cams. It was well stained and protected. Undamaged. The kids and I love it. Thanks.

I have a few comments about the glider I purchased. For what I paid, I'm not disappointed, but I had to make some improvements for this product to function properly. First, it came in with the main u shaped pieces that go on the left and right side with both pieces loose. They are attached with four metal plates with wood screws in them. The screws were stripped when it arrived. The assembly wasn't terribly hard, but after it was assembled, it made horrific noises when sitting and gliding in the chair. This was due to the loose side pieces, and it's basic design of wood on wood without any dowells or additional screws. I then took every joint apart and put exterior wood cement between every joint. I also removed all sixteen screws from the u side pieces and drilled the holes through. I then bought some long 8-32 machine screws with washers and nuts and re-attached the pieces together to add strength. After re-assembly, the glider is 100% quiet, and works like a dream. I feel that with a few minor improvement this could be a great product, but as is out of the box, not so good.

Comments about Jordan Manufacturing Alpine 4-ft. Double Seat Glider Bench:

Glider parts only fit on one side. A lot of problems figuring out the size of the screws also. They didn't offer replacement parts so we got a refund.
hayneedle was great handling the entire situation. I would definitely use hayneedle again.

Comments about Jordan Manufacturing Alpine 4-ft. Double Seat Glider Bench:

We received our bench on Saturday after ordering it on Thursday. Wow! It arrived quickly and I was SO excited! My husband, who does a lot of woodworking, spent at least two hours trying to put this bench together. Talk about frustrating! (We had a lot of four-letter words being thrown in that two hours!) There are no good instructions that give you step by step directions, only crummy pictures. Once the bench was put together I was thrilled, it really is a beautiful look. Then I sat down on it. OMG! It didn't break, but every piece of wood moved and creaked and made horrible noises. We laughed so hard we cried, teasing each other about how much the other weighed! (It felt as if it was about to break in two.)How could something that looked so nice be engineered so poorly? (The wood is very thin). We even kept it together for our adult kids to try it out the next day. They too thought it was beautiful upon first glance. Then they sat on it (we are not huge people), "What a piece of junk!" words spoken by both my daughter and later my son saying something similar. We will be taking it apart tonight and shipping it back to Hayneedle. It's not even worth $50. I just didn't want to believe the negative reviews because it's such a nice looking piece. I guess I learned a lesson. If you only want it for decorative purposes, go for it. But if you're purchasing this to be able to sit and glide, keep looking.

Comments about Jordan Manufacturing Alpine 4-ft. Double Seat Glider Bench:

While the bench arrived in a timely manor, the hardware bag was broken as were the desiccant bags. Luckily, there was an abundance of tape sealing the carton and I was careful opening it so as not to loose any hardware. I located all of the bits cast about the box and proceeded to assemble the bench.
Assembly was straight forward. I just followed the enclosed exploded view. Assembly time was about 20 minutes. After tightening all of the hardware my lady and I set it outside to test it. She sat first, then signaled me to join her. As soon as I sat. we heard a pop and felt a jolt. The slats on the bench were giving way. Upon close inspection, much of the preassembled pieces had short wood screws in oversized holes. Every screw I tightened was stripped including the pocket screws. I replaced some of the hardware and applied Gorilla Brand wood glue to some joints to reinforce them. After some cure time, my girl and I can sit together.
I would recommend keeping the total weight less than 350 lbs. lest you have a collapse.
Also wood is not sealed. We plan to apply some tung oil before the Florida weather destroys it.
