A great-looking, natural addition to your home studio. The wood frame is reinforced many times with various cross beams and triangular pedestal supports. Choose a natural, unfinished top or a cherry Melamine top - both with rounded corners and black vinyl borders. The base is always CHERRY regardless of the top finish.

1- As stated above the angle adj is not very secure. The mfg only used a washer and wing nut on each side to secure it. Any good pressure on the front of the tabletop (1st 8" or so) will cause the adj to slip. Easily fixable but a better method would have been appreciated.
2- The tabletop was not pre drilled for attachment nor were there any guidelines to the location to drill the holes. As a result of this the tabletop may be to far forward making my above issue worse.
However with that said this is a good piece for the money and I would buy it again if needed.

This is not a serious drafting table and in the future I will spend more money on something far better.
It's good for right now and for the price.
My only complaint is the vinyl edging on the natural table-top. It's ugly, mismatched and would prefer an unfinished edge.

The drafting table arrived very quickly, and in excellent condition. Great shipping service from Hayneedle and FedEx. As others have pointed out, the tilt mechanism would be more secure with additional knobs instead of the included wing nuts, but I will replace them with knobs or some other more secure hardware soon. It would be nice to have those same knobs as on the legs available as an accessory, as they would be perfect replacements for the wing nuts. The parts were all there, the assembly was quick--less than an hour, including measuring and drilling holes in the top for the brackets. I ordered the 42 inch melamine top after reading some negative reviews about the unfinished wood top, and it seems like a decent table top. Overall, the Alvin Pavillion is a very nice drafting table, and the fast shipping service from Hayneedle was excellent.

Nice table but it came with very poor instructions along with some marks on the legs etc. Unfinsihed top was pretty crummy so I'd recommend getting the cherry. Also, a bit smaller than I had hoped. But it should serve my prupose.

I have a professional drafting table already so i needed a small space saving, light and basic drawing table to move around the house anytime i want. This table is PERFECT! it's very easy to work with and it can be set very low or high but, my best and most comfortable position is low approx. 28" 1/2 off the ground. it's very sturdy and will last you a lifetime if you take care of it. has a wood rack near bottom to rest your foot i find this feature extremely useful when drawing for hours on end. The natural wood (unfinished) they call it is very nice and does not mark or show signs of wear so easily. Best of all it's cheap and it's oldschool so i just had to pick this baby up! if you get it you won't be dissapointed unless you're not a fan of a good old fashioned drawing table like this one is!
