Even superior fabrics like the ones used by IDM Worldwide have some limitations; please keep the following in mind to extend the life of your Awnings in a Box® or Door Canopies in a Box®: Clean awning with mild soap solution as needed (annually or every other year), and rinse thoroughly with water and allow to air dry. Clean the underside of your awning with a household broom. Remove awning during extremely windy or cold weather to avoid damage to the awning. Treating your awning with 303 Products fabric cleaner and fabric guard will help increase its life. It's advisable to remove your awning in the winter to increase its life expectancy, storing it in a dry area but not in a non-breathable plastic bag. Don't spray insect repellant over fabric, as some solutions may cause staining. Don't permit leaves, twigs, or pine needles to accumulate and remain on the awning. Don't drag on abrasive surfaces. Don't wash with abrasive cleaners, bleach, or strong, harsh solutions.
