Western Red Cedar is naturally resistant to cracking and moisture rot. The oils of this resilient wood guard against insect attack and decay, and their distinctive aroma acts as a mild insect repellent.Western Red Cedar is a dependable choice for outdoor furniture, either as a finished or unfinished wood. Over time, unfinished cedar left outdoors will weather to a silvery gray patina. This natural process does not compromise the strength or integrity of the wood. The kiln-drying process extracts moisture from the wood, resulting in a heightened resistance to warping and rot, as well as enhanced strength.

Once together, it looks great, swings great and is just overall a great deal. I would recommend it to anyone looking for porch swing. The color is not like the online picture, it is darker and more uniform in color, but still looks great.

NOT sturdy, definetely won't hold 500lbs

I had our handyman install it and it was easy to install BUT:
1) The minute 1 adult (130lbs) sat it cracked one piece. He was able to blue it and put 2 metal supports to give it a lot more stability.
2) The seat itself bends like it cannot even take that much weight.
3) The stand itself is so non robust that when you swing it moves all over (the base lifts). So our handyman will put 4 metal pieces in the legs of the stand to fix it in the floor, otherwise definitely NOT SAFE!
4) IT is quite short. I wish it would be taller and a LOT thicker and ROBUST.
So unless you plan to modify it a lot do not buy this thing. A waste of money and not safe.

One of the 2 swings on PO77264083 weas made wrong and the backrest couldn't be attached to the seat. There were also parts of the swing that appeared not to be stained properly.
I have puchased 8 of these swings over the past 7 years and this is the only one that was defective, and your customer service rep, Chris, promptly sent me a replacement.

Swing looks pretty good, too early to know how it will weather. Optional hanger kit has good springs but the hangers apperar to be plastic or composit material and plastic does not weather well. When/if it fails there will be a painful fall involved.

it went to together easily and correctly, all the parts were there. directions were not great but I did not have problems putting it together. I did not like the oil finish. It looks and feels flimsy. hope it holds up but when you sit in it you do not feel comfortable it will hold you and the wood groans.
