I used to have one of the original Vermont versions of this cart which was terrific, but I didn't want to spend that much this time around.
This cart went together quite easily. Some people have mentioned that holes didn't line up well-- if you leave all nuts and bolts loose until they're ALL in place, you'll have some play to get things to line up. Then tighten everything.
The removable end to the cart's bed is an improvement over my old cart, making it easy to dump yard waste.
I'd suggest buying some flat washers to put under the heads of the bolts to keep them from sinking into the plywood sides when they're tightened.
I downgraded this from 5 to 4 for two reasons:
1)I'd rather see semi pneumatic or solid tires to the pneumatic which could go flat
2)I'd rather see a permanent galvanized finish on the handle and legs instead of the paint which can chip, allowing rust.
Overall, a good value and a very useful garden tool.

Comments about Great Plains Wood Garden Cart:

The wagon arrived in a beat up box but all was ok inside. It went together easily and is exactly as pictured and exactly what we needed. I will hesitate to order again. I do have a problem with FedEx and delivery of this item.

Comments about Great Plains Wood Garden Cart:

I have had this type of garden cart for over 30 years. I'm sure, because people complained about the cart "tipping" if loaded improperly, the wheel was moved forward. The cart no longer tips, but in moving this "folcrum", the entire weight of the cart and contents now has to be lifted. ...very bad move. I find this design very difficult to manage.

Comments about Great Plains Wood Garden Cart:

This is our third garden way cart. We really like them. But upon finishing putting this one together the tire wouldn't hold air. So had to take it to our local bike shop to have a tube put in, so in turn it did cost us an additional $10 to get it going.

Comments about Great Plains Wood Garden Cart:

The cart arrived in a timely fashion, all of the parts were there although the box had a rip in it. Two of us put it together in less than an hour. Two things about the design that could be improved: one is that the wheels seem too forward on the card which causes the user to have less of a fulcrum therefore they have to lift more weight, and two, the bolts near the hub of the wheel stick out too much and the wheel hits them=--we had to cut them off. Also, there is a hole in the handle and I don't know what it is for.

Comments about Great Plains Wood Garden Cart:

Load capacity of tires (200 lb) doesn't match advertised capacity of the cart (300 lb) This can be an issue if you are moving firewood, aside from the false advertising.

Comments about Great Plains Wood Garden Cart:

We had moved and downsized 4 years ago. Previously I owned the 14 cuft larger Garden Cart and and it was the BEST TOOL in the shed. We moved rocks for stone walls, mulch, leaves and grass clippings, peat moss, soil, sand, gravel, fertilizer, branches---anything needing transport in the yard including snow. I left it with the new owners of our house 700 miles away when we moved. For 4 years I have longed for that cart again and finally just got tired of carrying things all over the yard. I was delighted when I decided to buy another and found there was a smaller version that meets our new needs perfectly and can store in our two car garage (don't have a shed) even with both cars in (the larger one would've fit too). Don't do what I did...Measure the size you need and order one--I guarantee you will repeat My Headline!

Comments about Great Plains Wood Garden Cart:

I just ordered a new cart for my husband. The one he has been using for 30 years has had the tires and wheels replaced, some of the wood, and it still is his favorite cart. He refers to it as the "One horse Shay" example meaning the poem. He believes it will live one hundred years and a day. However, I think a new one would be nice. He probably will think I am crazy for ordering it but it will be a birthday present. We were just looking at the Tractor Supply store brochure and I pointed out a few carts and his comment was there is nothing like the Garden Way Cart.
