About Fir Wood

Was so excited to get chairs and I was told by Hayneedle that they were very durable chairs. Turns out the chairs are made of a very soft wood, almost Balsa like. You need to be very careful not to touch the chair with anything (like the screwdriver when you are assembling it) because it will leave a mark. You can leave a mark in the wood with just your finger nail. I think the chairs are made with a very cheap wood. I would return them but I am lazy, so I will use them until they die and then I will buy a better quality made chair.

Both chairs had to be assembled. Not very sturdy, one chair came damaged with nicks and chips. Very dissapointed with overall product. I was going to order more, not anymore.

Very comfortable. Took ~2 hours to put both chairs together (without power tools). Wood came with scome scratches and scuff marks, but nothing to worry about, especially for an outdoor chair.
