Comments about Vickerman Bigfork Pine Unlit Christmas Tree:
Absolutely gorgeous and so realistic even to the touch. I've been searching for a tree with "spaces" for ornaments and they are surprisingly difficult to find.
I bought the 5' version and it comes in three pieces: A heavy stand (much sturdier than it appears in picture), a bottom section and top section. They just slide together and it was together in about 20 seconds. The branches can be shaped in any way and they hold the position. They are sturdy enough to hold even heavy ornaments. No dropped "needles" like some artificial trees. The center post is wrapped in brown and does give the appearance of a real trunk.
A couple of minor downsides: there is a plastic smell (that seems to be dissipating a bit since it's been out of the box and I hope it goes away soon). The other is that the sections spin if they are bumped; the posts don't fit tightly enough to prevent the movement. I expect I can fix this with some electrical tape wrapped around the posts for a tighter fit.
All in all a beautiful and very realistic tree that reminds me of the trees in those old photos of Victorian era trees. I love it and expect to get many years out of it.
