Very adorable coop that was very easy to put together. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it came damaged and since it was very well packed I don't believe it was from shipping. Luckily the hubby is very handy and he was able to screw the broken bits of wood back together so it all works. I have two LF Polish in it full time with three Olive Egger pullets that only roost there at night and then free range during the day. There is plenty of room for them with this arrangement. One note, this coop is not enough protection if you have large predators. I have mine set up inside a large enclosed garden so they are safe.

I bought this for a temp home for a broody hen, so I wasn't looking for an industrial coop, just simple and able to do its job. The box came a day after "estimated delivery date." (Which wasn't a big deal) The box exterior looked fine, no marks or scratches or dents on it. When I opened the box, multiple pieces of wood were broken, and in no way repairable with some good wood glue or reinforcement. Lots of wood chips. It's Sunday, so I'm still waiting to talk to Customer Service to fix this situation. It would seem like such a hassle to ship this giant thing back.

Great coop but too small

Comments about Boomer & George Nesting Quarters Chicken Coop:

We purchased this coop for 3 starter pullets. Delivery was fast and the price was good. Upon opening there were two broken pieces that were easily repaired with wood glue. It was very easy to assemble. While the chickens are fine for the moment there is really not enough room for 3 chickens once they reach full size. The coop is made fairly well but is on the small size. It is a great starter coop but I doubt chickens could take a northeast winter iin it. Roofing joint could be better as in heavy rain we need to cover the coop with a tarp.

A little frustrating to put together but very doable ! Its just big enough for two to roost ..maybe three if they get let out during the day to run . TIP dont put together inside if you have small doors lol ! we JUST made it out !

Just assembled this today. It would have been really quick but there were so many broken parts it took much longer waiting for glue to harden etc. I could of sent it back but figured it might just come the same way.. So repair wait and build! I really like the final product and the quail that I am using it for love it. The 3 star rating is because of the broken items. Have screws and glue. Drill first for repair so wood doesn't split..

Comments about Boomer & George Nesting Quarters Chicken Coop:

Like most other purchasers, many of the pieces were broken when it arrived. I went ahead and put the coop together. I added chicken wire at the bootom to fortify it. It is too small for even two chickens, but fortunately, we only put our chicken in it at night. Once we get the hang of caring for chickens, we plan to upgrade. I do not think this is a coop that should be intended for long term use.

Comments about Boomer & George Nesting Quarters Chicken Coop:

This product arrived a day earlier than scheduled...big bonus points there for exceeding my expectations (my chicks really needed a home!). The packaging was beautiful with the colorful paper mixed between the pieces, but some materials were damaged. The roof corner on one side is fairly well smashed and we had to repair/reinforce. Another piece that over the slit in the roof was cracked as well as the bottom of one of pieces of the nest box. Nothing was unusable and we reinforced, but I'd take a notch down on quality. The wire sides have several spots where a vertical spot is missing, make a hole that's bigger than the others. Not sure this is a show stopper, but reserving judgment. The biggest issue is the latch on the front, large door is that the latch was totally broken. I was forced to go spend additional money to replace it. Reinforcing/living with the cracked wood didn't cost anything; replacing the broken latch was an extra expense I should not have had to incur. Other than that, it seems a little small or anything but two chickens...I really thought it would be a bit bigger. Pros: the cedar smells great and the chicks appear happy.

Was a little disappointed in the coop. When it arrived it already had a few breaks and a lot of scratches and dings. It seemed pretty low quality wood and obviously wasn't packed thoughtfully. The wood , though stained, did not seem water resistant in any way so needed to coat it with an outdoor water clear coat. Once put together it felt fairly sturdy but feel it needs to be secured to something for heavy wind rain or snow. Wish it had the ability to have 3 nesting boxes as it states it's good for 2-4 chickens.

The purchasing and delivery were the best part of this purchase so far. We opened it moments ago and two pieces are broken and not able to be used. We won't know where they go until we get it assembled. Disappointed that this happened and Henrietta will have to stay in the house until we can get the broken pieces replaced. Can you please help us?
