Comments about Boomer & George Cottage Chicken Coop:

I just recently purchased this item, which was delivered very quickly, but the box was broken, as were some of the pieces. Obviously this was partly due to Fed Ex, but I felt it could have been packaged in two boxes as opposed to one, and then packed with more protective material between layers. You have to install the handles and latches yourself, which is fine; however, the latches are flimsy, and allow themselves to easily open when the doors are pulled on. My doors are tied currently with twine for safety until I can get better latching mechanisms today. The wood is rather thin, cracking when you tighten a screw down normally - reminds me of the balsam fir wood they would let us girls use "back in the day" in wood shop. I was able to assemble by myself in about two hours. It's pleasing to look at in the yard, but not as durable as anticipated. Will most likely need to replace by the end of winter - it's now October.
