This house was exactly as advertised. Perfect for my needs. Arrived well packed, easy to assemble, no flaws in wood. Going to be used in an indoor dogs outdoor dog lot for times when we have to be gone for long periods during the day. To make legs to keep floor dry we will set it on bricks. The roof lifts up so we can put in hay in winter to insulate it and can be swept out while open to change hay. Exactly what we wanted and on clearance so got it at a great price!!!!

This puppy house seemed packaged well, but several of the screws were stripped on the floor boards and a big split in the wood frame. It went together again just fine, but repairs were needed out of the box. It smells great, and is attractive. A little small for a "Large"- my 60 lb shepherd mix has to shimmy in and out with just enough turn around room. Great deal for the price- saved me from having to buy and cut all the lumber.

Pros

  • Easy To Set Up
  • Weather Resistant

Cons

  • Provides Little Protection

Best Uses

  • Indoors
  • Mild Weather

Comments about Boomer & George Chateau Lift-Top Roof Dog House:

I liked the dog house. I recommend it for warmer climates. I have put it on bricks to keep it off of the ground. Filled it with hay for a feral cat to have a dry place to sleep. The roof looks like it is covered with a large shingle and is waterproof. I may add a lip on the door to keep rain from going in. For the price and use, it was a very good buy for me.

VERY CHEAP MADE

Pros

  • Attractive Design

Cons

  • Flimsy Design
  • Not water proof
  • Provides Little Protection

Best Uses

  • Indoors
  • Not For Outdoor Use

Comments about Boomer & George Chateau Lift-Top Roof Dog House:

it looks nice, but is so thin and cheaply made I can not imagine using it for any kind of animal! It arrived with cracked parts and screw holes stripped out, this was not a packing issue! Another issue, it would not be water proof, so if you buy it, it would need to be placed inside another shelter. Just stay away, choose another item.

Dogs went right in. Med is roomy enough for two. Roof hinges allow easy access but not sure how long they'll last. Looks like a kids playhouse.

Good, but not great!

Pros

  • Attractive Design

Cons

  • Flimsy Design
  • The Floor Is 2 Part

Best Uses

Comments about Boomer & George Chateau Lift-Top Roof Dog House:

I was able to put both dog houses together. They are not as sturdy as I expected. I had trouble getting the floor to fit in one of them. I'm wondering if a one piece floor would work better.

Comments about Boomer & George Chateau Lift-Top Roof Dog House:

Corner was damaged in shipping, but little door to house was too small for our guy so.... We took out the front wall with the window and he loves it. It does the job keeping his bed, dry and giving him his place to sleep. It is light weight wood, easy to put together , just want the door taller.

      Best Uses

Comments about Boomer & George Chateau Lift-Top Roof Dog House:

I was not impressed with the quality. The paint on the trim was very thin and no way will it ever survive the outdoor elements. The size is nice and was accurate on the advertise mention. I was totally mislead by the supposed markdown percentage. This house is barely worth watch I paid for it...so glad I did not pay the original price.

      • Dog Does Not Like It

      Best Uses

      • Mild Weather

Comments about Boomer & George Chateau Lift-Top Roof Dog House:

Boards were too short on floor, paint job was a quick blow over with whitewash, joint to slide roof in was jagged, so had to give it a light tap and it split. Install was streight forward, but hinges needed to be marked on walls, when closing the roof the back panel of the dog house blew out and broke. No way will this dog house hold up in the midwest through cold weather, we will need to re-paint and repair, and try to figure how to insulate for winter.
