Comments about Bushnell Universal Tripod Mount:

The Bushnell Universal Tripod Mount accomplishes the purpose for which it was designed. The strap can be tightened to fit most binoculars, I think. I purchased it specifically for a set of Zhumell 10X42mm Short Barrel Binoculars. Although I have not tested the Zhumell Tripod Mount, I had a question as to whether Zhumell's mount would fit the mounting socket between the barrels of the model I purchased. The customer service representative from Binoculars.com did not believe it would fit either. Again, to be fair, I did not order and test Zhumell's attachment. I also hope to use Bushnell's mount on a set of Bushnell Powerview 20X50mm Super High-Powered Surveillance Binoculars. The socket on the Bushnell mount fit the mounting screw on my 15-year-old tripod. In order to accomodate all sizes of binoculars, the strap is long, but the extra length can be tucked in, as shown in the illustration. It would be nice if the strap would tighten down a bit more, but it does tighten enough to secure the binoculars adequately. Switching between binocular-viewing from a tripod and viewing with the binoculars hand-held should only take a few moments, significantly less time than screwing and unscrewing a tripod adaptor designed to screw into the binoculars.
