Comments about Celestron SkyMaster 20x80 Binocular with Tripod Kit:

The tripod was evidently not designed for the stargazer. Will not rotate unless you loosen the locknut, then not rigid. Drastic limitation to elevation, cannot view overhead objects. Servo knobs are awkward and hit your face. I returned it and am using an old 1976 Manon 360 camera tripod that allows viewer to stand up full height, rotates 360 degrees and allows for viewing overhead objects.

The Celestron 20X80 binoculars are great and securely fastens to the older tripod. Viewer can observe the moons of Jupiter, rings of Saturn, craters on the moon and faintly see comet ISON. Though not as refined a telescope, these glasses are pretty amazing.

I would recommend the 20X80's but skip the tripod, you'll be sorry!
