I have a 5" scope and this unit is designed for 8" scopes or higher. I didn't like the tape option so I drilled a small hole in the tube to mount the scope with screws.(should only be done if you are handy with tools)but once mounted it is so easy to find your target I cann't see myself using a regular finderscope ever again.

    Good Product

This should be the OEM finder on the scope from the manufacturer. Easy to mount, align and use.

            Customer Q & A

            9 Questions About This Product
Q: "Does this finderscope set include the mounting bracket and nuts for the Celestron Nexstar 114GT and 130GT models?"
A: Yes, it is all included to connect very easily to the 114GT or 130GT models.
Q: "I have two questions. I am wondering which side of the finder scope to look through? Is it the side where I can see ther laser dot. Or the other side? Second which part of the finder scope goes closest to the front of the Telescope. The manual was not very clear of that part. Thanks, Anthony"
A: The part that the dot shines on (The side with the lens) will face the front of the telescope. you will look through it so that you can see the dot on the lens of the finder scope.
Q: "What is the field of view for the Celestron red dot finderscope #51630?"
A: The red dot has no magnification you just align the dot with the object you wish to view. The field of view is the same as the naked eye.
Q: "Will this fit with zhumell eclipse 114?"

A: The Star Pointer Finderscope uses a 3-volt lithium (CR2332) battery.

A: Yes, the Celestron Star Pointer Finderscope can be mounted on a C8.
Q: "Can I replace the finderscope battery without changing the alignment. It's perfect now, hate to mess with it?"
