These actually surprised me and I was very impressed with the design. I was expecting just a rubber block, but these show some acoustic engineering was involved. The design mirrors the vibration isolation used on professional acoustic chambers. In this case, each pad consists of a hard outer shell with a couple of bumps for ground contact, and an inner concave shell for the tripod foot, separated by a very soft silicone absorber layer. The result is a product that does exactly what it says it will, and that should last as long as the silicone remains pliable (a pretty long time!).

Works, but still a little vibration

Bought to use on a scope for viewing on my deck. Removes most of the vibration, but still catch a bit. When on concrete, works great for stability and removes motions.

Works well..I used this item on my celestron telescope omni xlt 120 and it took probably 95% of the vibrations out of the scope.

Comments about Celestron Telescope and Spotting Scope Vibration Suppression Pads:

Nice solid feel, but dampens vibration very well. I bought these pads when I bought my telescope.

I tested the scope without the pads, and there was a good bit of vibration, especially during focusing. When I set the pads under my tripod, I saw a drastic reduction in the vibration when focusing.

In my opinion, thes pads are a must for any tripod, whether you are using a telescope, binoculars, or a camera.

Comments about Celestron Telescope and Spotting Scope Vibration Suppression Pads:

I've used it once so far, and it appears to be working, but the problem is the quality of the items themselves was not very good. I'm debating to send it back or not, as the orange cup does not sit well and some of the parts are tighter than the others.

Comments about Celestron Telescope and Spotting Scope Vibration Suppression Pads:

Took these out for the first time in an area where the ground was hard, dry and unlevel. Using a fine focuser was difficult prior to getting these, as the scope was jiggling with even the lightest touch to the focuser. Following the instructions, leveled out the scope and set it up. All motion was suppressed to a great degree. Focusing was much easier. I'll have to admit I was sceptical that these would work as well as I wanted, but they have surpassed my expectations.
