It's made in the USA of kiln-dried southern yellow pine and has a rough opening of 22.5 x 48 inches and fits ceiling heights from up to 8 ft. 5 inches. It has a 56-inch landing space and a minimum clearance-projection space of 62 inches. The 1 x 4-inch steps and stiles offer a stable, sure footing and it features zinc-plated side hinges and power arms equipped with red nut J-bolt technology that allows you to adjust the door panel while the stairway is open. Like all Century attic stairways, this one is independently certified to meet ANSI safety standards.

Comments about Century 8.5 ft. Windsor Wooden Attic Stair:
Replaced an old stairway.., directions with product were easy to understand, and covered all the bases for easy and accurate installation,,,.. one problem corner joints on front opening was 1/8" off and door would not fit flush, after planeing down the 24" board it fit fine....Good thing I boticed before installing.. made it a lot easier... also agree with reccomedtion of two people...
