Description
The CH-47 Chinook first saw operational service during the Vietnam conflict, one of the pioneering combat situations for helicopter use. There were some issues with early variants of the Chinook, and awkward operational use due to the new nature of helicopter transport in general, but the Chinook proved itself to be a capable airlifter, and has continued in widespread service since, in both civil and military operations worldwide. The Chinook's twin-rotor system, at first underutilized, has enabled the CH-47 to operate successfully in mountainous regions where other transport helicopters are hampered the thin air at higher altitudes. This historic aircraft has been reproduced here in great detail, and this model will be prized by any enthusiast.
