Comments about Chadwick Side Chair by Oxford Garden:
Some reviewers said the chairs were hard to assemble others said it was easy. After assembling these chairs I understand the disparities. My chairs were easy to assemble because I know how to use basic hand tools, if I didn't it would have been difficult.
For example, assembling the seat requires using wood screws. One of the two pieces didn't have pre-drilled starter holes so I drilled my own using the holes in the other piece as a guide. In a couple of places the two holes that were to receive pegs were difficult to line up properly so using a drill bit slightly smaller than the hole I drilled a 1/8 to 1/4 inch into the hole in the inside piece, enlarging the inside hole a bit. The enlarged opening served as a guide to get the peg into the inside hole.
If I didn't know how to use hand tools I could still have assembled the chairs but it would have more difficult and time consuming.
That said I love these chairs they will be around long after I'm gone.
