Still deciding......

By Deanna

Pros

  • Fits Taller Children
  • Space saver

Cons

  • Not as heavy duty

Best Uses

  • For older children

Had a problem with some of the pieces coming moderately scratched. Hayneedle customer service did right by us from the start. My issue is that the bed doesn't seem as sturdy as the 320 max pounds each bed should hold as described in the details. My boys weigh around 200 and 125 pounds. The bed shakes somewhat.

Pros

  • Arrrived quickly
  • Looks good

Cons

  • Could Be More Solid
  • Minor Flaws On Arrival

Best Uses

  • Kids Bunkbed

Item arrived in two days which was wonderful. Packaging could be more solid. We did have minor scrathes on a few pieces, and one broken end cap for the ladder. This was likely due to minimal shifting within the box during transit. Assembly was straight forward. The bed is functional, but not completely solid as it does move (sway slightly) when my 60 lb son climbs into the top bunk. The 4 corner posts are hollow which may contribute, and a few angles between post and rail, were slightly off. I did tighten all bolts as much as possible without causing the corner posts to compress. The ladder was not straight and needed to be bent/coaxed into position once assembled. I anchored the bed to the wall which alleviated the sway issue. My two boys like the bed - I was hoping for something that was a bit more sturdy/stable perhaps less mass production in feel - quality control could be better though for the $200-$300 price range I wasn't sure what to expect. My boys prior beds were from Ikea and definatley feel more sturdy. Overall, I'd rate it average but functional for the cost.
