This coop is inexpensive, attractive, assembles in less than one hour, made of quality materials.
It is small; we have 3 hens living in it.
My husband added some hook & eye latches and barrel latches to the doors for added security ( to preempt any activity by raccoons, foxes, weasels).
He also added 1 door to the coop. THe interior does not have a door at the ladder/ramp that leads down to the ground. At night, we send the hens in and latch this door that he built.
ALso, if you buy a standard sized waterer, you will find that it does not fit easily through the bottom screened door. It fits, but not easily.

I have had hens in my city setting for two years, and I needed another coop for two additions to my flock. I ordered the coop on a Tuesday, and it was on my doorstep by Thursday night. Not bad for free shipping. The coop came with minor damage--just a few wood gouges--but was fine. Assembly was easy and quick; however, it took me a lot longer than others because I chose to reinforce the underside with predator-proof hardware cloth. Anyone with chickens knows that predators can burrow underneath and get inside to eat your chickens while you are sleeping. Overall, I found this to be a good "starter coop," with the following important recommendations: 1) it is unequivocally fit for a MAXIMUM of two adult [mid- to large-breed] hens or maybe 3 bantam-sized hens. Put too many hens in a close confinement, and that's when cannibalism occurs. 2) create floor protection with half-inch hardware cloth to keep predators from burrowing underneath. 3) the roof and nesting box offer no air flow, and chickens are susceptible to respiratory problems, so I urge anyone getting this coop to create a roof vent and ALSO to knock out the plexiglass window and replace with half-inch hardware cloth, as well as create a raised, vented roof for the nesting box area. Trust me, the first time one of your hens goes broody and spends 21 days in that little oven of a nesting box, you will know why. 4) secure the nesting box floor panels with screws! They just lay in the bottom, and they are lightweight enough that any predator (dog, raccoon, possum) merely has to bonk their head up under the floor from outside, and, wa-la! They're in. 5) install sliding bolts to secure both doors. The little hearts are cute, but not nearly enough to keep something from getting in. I would not recommend this coop for wide-open outdoor situations, such as a farm or large lot that does NOT have supplemental fencing. I have a fully fenced backyard, solar lights around my coops, and keep my place as neat and tidy as possible to discourage predators, but if you are in an area with large dogs, coyotes, or foxes, they can easily work through the lightweight wood that this coop is made of.

Comments about Boomer & George Deluxe Chicken Coop:

Yes I like it. Shipping was fast. It was easy to assemble. A couple minor glitches, no big deal, one piece was broken but a little Elmer's wood glue and good as new. More than likely the shipper was guilty. I would recommend this product. I'm pretty sure the chickens won't complain.

shoddy workmanship

Comments about Boomer & George Deluxe Chicken Coop:

almost every piece was damaged due to factory set screws being overtightened leading to splits in the the wood. It was also missing a latch. I used a lot of gorilla glue to fix all the damaged wood. Instructions reference A, B, C, D, etc. parts but parts were not labeled as such, only the screws were labeled. Watching the video was the most helpful in assembling this coop. Overall, if there had NOT been so much damage this would have been a good coop for the price

Comments about Boomer & George Deluxe Chicken Coop:

Assembling this coop was very easy, especially after viewing the instructions online. It took a friend and I (we are two old women)about an hour. Another friend commented that even without chickens, it makes a very attractive yard ornament. :)

My only complaint is that there were several boards that had cracks. These I plan on gluing together. I will replace the latches on the doors as I think a coon could get in with no problem.

Other than that I am very pleased and will be picking up a couple of hens today. This is my first experience with chickens at age 77 and am I having fun!

Comments about Boomer & George Deluxe Chicken Coop:

Being a first time chicken farmer I was quite leery about buying a coop, especially buying one online. For my comfort I called customer service and talked to a representative. She was absolutely wonderful. She answered all of my questions. She did in politely and never once did she try to rush me off the phone. She was wonderful!

I did order the coop and it came exactly on the date that was told to me, which was super fast. I got it in a week from purchasing it.

It was simple to put together. Two women put it together within an hour. My chickens adore it. They love to snuggle together and sleep inside the little house. I think it's great for a first time chicken farmer as well as a well experienced one.

Easy to build, great price, and chickens love it! What more can I say but it's worth it! I just might buy another one!
