my granddaughter is not quite ready for a bicycle
and she is overweight so I think she would do really well on a 16" tricycle and get lots of exercise. She loves to ride her little tricycle
but her knees hit the bars. She is 3 and this should last her for many more years. A perfect gift from Santa. I am so glad I found Hayneedle !!

Love this bike because my 3 year old was not ready to transition from a tricycle to a two wheeler with training wheels. She was too tall for the average tricycle, and this tricycle is extra large & sturdy...just perfect for her.

Comments about Italtrike 16 in. Classic Tricycle:

This tricycle is perfect for my eight year old son with special needs. It is large enough for him to ride without hitting his knees on the handle bars. He is now pedaling on this tricycle instead of "scooting" it like his old trike.
I highly recommend this for size, sturdiness, and ease of assembly. He LOVES his new tricycle!

my son is tall so finding the right trike was difficult. it was also difficult to find a trike that was not too heavy...this is the perfect trike for my son, who just turned 4. he was not ready for a bike so we wanted to find a trike he could grow with and eventually transition to a bike, which we found with this trike. the best way to rate the italtrike is by my son's smile while he rides, which is ear to ear!!

I bought this for my 4 year old grandson because he out grew the smaller tricycle I had. He absolutely loves it. He says he can go "Super-Fast." I feel it is very sturdy and has a good center of balance. He weighs about 37 lbs. and is about 40 inches tall and it fits him perfectly. Thanks for this great product.

I ordered this tricycle for my granddaughter's 4th birthday, and she loves it. The size is good now, and she can use it for another year or two until she is ready for a beginning bicycle. It was made in Italy, and has a metal frame. Very sturdy, and well made. I expect the younger sister will get good use out of it as well.

Comments about Italtrike 16 in. Classic Tricycle:

My great niece is very tall; she was 36" tall by the time she was 18 months old. I have been looking for a 16" tricycle since right before her 4th birthday last year, when she became just too big to ride her 10" tricycle. Her uncle bought her a bicycle, but she was not quite ready for it; she may be tall, but she still has a toddler's proportions -- larger head and shorter limbs in proportion to her body -- so she does not have the balance of a 6 or 7 year old. I found this tricycle for her 5th birthday, and she has been ecstatic about it. She loves the red color, I love the heavy steel construction (which makes it practically un-tippable and virtually unbreakable), but best of all, she once again has a riding toy that fits her. The only problem was that the assembly instructions were written incompetently: the individual pieces are not all identified, instructions for the front wheel chassis and fender assembly are left out, and instructions for the seat are incomplete. For someone without abstract spatial perception, it would be difficult to assemble.
