I am a 48 year old woman, and I was easily able to put the swing together by myself - my son tightened the bolts and moved it to its location in the woods. All of the dowels and bolts fit right into the pre-drilled holes. The wood is soft, so it was simple to screw the remaining supports into place.
I put two coats of stain on it followed by three coats of spar polyurethane before assembly. Beware: The bluebirds perch on the top rail - and leave their droppings on the bench.

My wife has wanted a swing for a long time and she found one she is excited about. We use the swing to relax in the backyard. The swing is sturdy, great looking, comfortable, and is a prominent feature of our backyard. We've had it for a short time, so I don't know if its weather treatment holds up in winter. It does have some cracks in the wood pieces that concern me, but the wood is supposed to be treated for pest and weather. So far, its great!

Great Swing! Easy to assemble and great construction. We purchased one last year for our home and just purchased another for our cabin up north. We stained ours and kept it uncovered outside all winter and we had no problems with it when the snow melted! Great purchase!

Ordered this swing in the 5ft. size for my Mother's Day gift as I read such nice reviews on this swing. It arrived promptly and our 3 kids "helped" Daddy assemble it (haha). It is a nice size, very comfortable and natural looking! Even my husband, who is VERY particular on wood products (an Industrial Designer), was SO impressed with this swing, he told me to order a 2nd one while we watched our 3 smiling kids swinging away on it!! (Bonus points)! I immediately ordered another from Hayneedle! Thank you, Porch Swings, for offering such a nice swing for such a great price and helping me get not just ONE but TWO swings! What an awesome Mother's Day gift for a family to enjoy outside :-)

The swing is perfect for our new front yard patio. Although assembly required 2 people, the instructions were easy to follow and took just about an hour. Well made, sturdy, everything we were looking for in a swing. We bought the 4 foot swing and is perfect for 2 adults or 2 kids and 1 adult.
