I am 63 and this is my first composter. I like that it is large enough but not so large to stick out in the yard . Can even use it in the deck if necessary. It turns really easily, which is why for older people it is a very good composter. Large mouth, again for ease of use. It is well built and does the job. The faucet at the bottom is a great addition to either make or collect "tea". I will recoup my money really quickly with the price of potting soil. After many reviews I found this one was the best for the price and value.

Unless I just got a defective unit, this thing is extremely cheap. The spigot for the compost tea is twice the size of the hole it is supposed to fit into so that won't work, which is the whole reason I got this tumbler in the first place..to be able to collect the tea. Next, several of the screws connecting the piece that the lid scews into were not fastened at all so that part comes right off every time I spin it. In essence, I cannot "tumble" my tumbler because the lid and the piece that it fastens to comes off everytime I turn it. I thought the price was a great value but this is no better than having the pile I had before buying a tumbler. Boo.

Quite difficult to empty

Comments about Enviro Tumbler 49 Gallon Resin Compost Tumbler:

While it's easy to load compostables into this composter, it's very difficult to get the composted material and tea out of it. The spigot constantly gets clogged, and there's no other way to get the tea out, so you hear that "gold" sloshing around in there, but can't get it out. Emptying the solid materials is a hassle too - there's just no easy way to get it out. I'm not happy with this model.

Comments about Enviro Tumbler 49 Gallon Resin Compost Tumbler:

This is the best composting system I've tried. So much easier than turning an ever-growing pile. And I like that the compost tea drips into the bottom, from which you can easily pour it out and dilute it to feed your plants. Also, the green looks nice in the garden.

Comments about Enviro Tumbler 49 Gallon Resin Compost Tumbler:

I will try to remember to come back in the spring to enter another review. At this point all I can say is that there was no assembly...I just cut open the box and rolled the item to near my garden. I did fill it with grass clippings and even after filling it, it was relatively easy to tumble. It did want to come off the stand so you must be careful when turning it. I especially liked the green color because it blends in more with the yard and garden.

Comments about Enviro Tumbler 49 Gallon Resin Compost Tumbler:

Bought two thinking they were a good idea. They are hard to turn with a decent amount of kitchen waste and don't turn in to good compost as fast as claimed. The liquid, which should gather in the base, doesn't. Worst, after 15 months all the rivets sheared on one and guarantee is only for a year. Tough, said Haynnedle.

And doesn't take up too much room. Very quick turn over on composting! And to make matters better, it's an excellent value!
