Comments about Cuisinart CPB300 SmartPower Portable Blender and Chopper:

Bought my CPB300 refurbished elsewhere because reviews were 50/50 pros and cons so didn't want to purchase at full price at the time. Have to say it is a very nice machine and has the big 32 oz pitcher which my Magic Bullet didn't have. Now both machines sit side-by-side on my counter under one cosie cover taking up the same room as one big glass blender machine. I have the benefit of both compact blenders for different functions and capacities. The CPB300 has the travel mugs which I don't need but I use the two different blade assemblies, chopper cup, and 32 oz blender cup all the time. The big cup is great to wash but the small chopper cup doesn't allow the hand to fit inside it very well so need a bottle brush or handled sponge to clean it. Magic Bullet cups can be positioned upright without engaging the motor but CPB300 cups are awkward to leave positioned upright on their base without engaging the start light so I have to angle cups just a little to keep the power light from coming on and this has been working well for me. The reason I like to keep the blades screwed into the cups and sitting on their bases is so that the cosie will fit evenly over them and so the cups are immediately available. I use them at least once a day for cooking, whipping, blending, chopping, or making protein drinks. I love the 32 oz CPB300 cup for making homemade tomatillo sauce--throw all the ingredients in at once and blend it up. Preparation of recipes takes longer than using the CPB300! The blades on the CPB300 are sharper than any blender I have ever owned so it takes great awareness when washing them. I use a special brush to wash the blades so not to tear up my sponges. No appliance is 100 percent perfect IMO but this CPB300 is one I would recommend as a first choice because of the variety of cup sizes, attractiveness, and durability (have been using my refurbished model for 6 months now). My kitchen is small and counter space is at a premium with toaster oven, coffee machine, can opener, iced tea machine, juicer, knife block, fruit basket, and compost crock all wanting their own niche. Some people have big mixing machines or food processers on their counters but I use a portable handmixer for quick baking jobs and my two little compact blenders take care of any food processing to be done.
