Very substantial soap dispenser, seems indestructible. Best part is pushing down on the top which has a smooth hydraulic-like action. Very clean non-obtrusive design, looks great in our small, simple bathroom. Like all stainless steel items though you must wipe down weekly or so to prevent rust corrosion. However, I was tired of replacing the plastic-and-glass soap dispensers; they either fell and cracked, or the plastic top would invariably break. This will last a good, long time.
