My husband just assembled the screen. it was a very necessary safety feature that we purchased for our fire pit. Our screen that came with the pit deteriorated after much use. I wasn't sure we could replace it until I saw the screen on your site. The screen is taller than our original which is a very nice feature for larger fires.It looks great and time will tell how how long it will last, but I am happy to have found it.

It is not a universal fit for any fire pit w 30 inch base.

I carefully measured my existing firepit to ensure I was buying the correct replacement cover. I heeded the note saying it was built for the overall 30" firepit with a 24" opening. Sadly, once I received the cover it was too small anyway to sit on the lip of the firepit and instead would have slid down a couple of inches into the pit except for the handles and side bolts. As it turned out the handles and the side bolts rest on the lip suspending it over the pit just enough to keep it from sliding into the pit. I did not want this misfit since it leaves on opening for the sparks to fly out (albeit small). Otherwise the quality seems good and the cover mechanism is sound. I do not want the hassle of returning it so I will keep it but I am disappointed.
