This on-line sofa-futon's size really appealed to me. Really easy to put together....tighten legs onto frame. Looks good. Firm seating, for sure, but that appeals to me. Soft sofas/chairs are difficult to extricate myself from. Advantage...for guests who like firm mattress...you have bedding. For everybody else--send to hotel.
Good buy, easy to assembly, getting up/out from sitting position is easier because of firmness and design.

This product is very small. The seat portion is child size. Easy to set up but poorly manufactured. Only had this set up for 2-3 days and the seat cushion collapsed in one corner and caused the bar in the middle to stick out and poke you in the back when using in for a bed. [...] There were factory pick colored ink markings for measurements on the side of the futon. In my opinion you can purchase something of much better quality than this for [$]. I do not recommend this product for everyday use. Would be good in a Foyer for sitting and removing shoes but not for everyday usage as living room seating. We returned this right away! Bottom line....spend your money on something else!

Looks great, feels good and easy to assemble but some of the screws that were preseated into the hinges don't tighten and stop turning. Its a small detail that prevents the stress on it from being evenly distributed across the whole hinge when its moved as when the sofa is converted into a bed.
If one were to use the futon feature more often, the sofa will be rendered useless because the surface and material into which the hinge is secured will eventually disintegrate which means repairing it is a no go unless one replaces the wood inside. A sign of lack of workmenship and especially attention to detail ultimately!

ps: this substituted for a loveseat sofa that cost $100 more. The workmenship on that brand which we got other furnishings hasn't failed us yet. My wife who preferred those would say 'I told you so' if she knew about this defect and will get acquainted with the fact once this does give way. Thinking of using longer screws to rectify the problem if possible.

One side wouldn't lock into position, rendering it virtually useless, so we had to return it. Great customer service, so we're ordering a replacement. Fingers crossed it won't have the same problem.

Perfect but the item is sooooooooooo much smaller than I expected, that we must return it sadly. We will definitely purchase again from Hayneedle, but maybe not something like this as we need it to comfortably sleep 2 which it absolutely would not so, it has to go. Great customer service however and that is very important when purchasing on line, so appreciated for sure.
