I am very happy with this toy/blanket chest. Huge capacity can hold/hide a lot of toys and blankets. It is very heavy, made of solid wood and quality materials. Very easy to assemble with only a screwdriver. The color is near black. The only con is that the finish can be easy to scratch and shows a lot of fingerprints. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase.

Our living room was a mess with toys - and this child isn't even 1 yet! This toy chest is enormous for all his toys and toys-to-be. It is beautiful enough to leave in the living room. There is no chance of slamming on little fingers. I upgraded to the cedar base. When this chest is done serving it's purpose of toy chest, it will keep safe all my treasures from my son's childhood. And believe me, it will last that long and longer. Can you tell I am satisfied?!!

We use this as a toy box in our family room. I wanted something large enough to hold a lot of toys, and this works great! My twins are 21 months and they like that they can reach in to get toys, and we like that the high quality hinges prevent the toy box from closing and smashing little fingers.
