I was determined to replace the older Eureka Lightweight when our old one expired after many years of use. This new one is so easy to use, empty, clean,etc. I have the mechanical skills of a squirrel and this Eureka 431 DX was a cinch to put together. The dust cup is so easy to remove compared to the earlier modelwe had. It vacuums great.

Works great on rugs and bare floors. Lightweight and compact. Easy to clean cannister and filter.
Would like an extension for the hose. Buy extra filters so you can wash one with garden hose and let that dry then you can use extra to continue. Filters get covered fast with pet hair.
Too much plastic construction, handle broke off the same one I had previously, and cannot be repaired - otherwise that vacuum still works fine. So obviously I like the model and its power.
