This no-frills model is more compact and easier to use than others. Polycarbonate construction on the 2000 series is almost indestructible, and the five 15-inch square trays are dishwasher-safe. A plexiglass door lets you check food drying at a glance. Each tray is independently removable, so you can check dryness without disturbing the other trays. The adjustable thermostat goes from 85-155°F, a range appropriate from fruit to jerky. Horizontal airflow is more even and doesn't mix food aromas, so you can dry meats and fruits in the same batch. Dimensions: 17W x 19D x 8.5H inches. A helpful 28-page dehydrating guide with over 50 recipes is included, so you'll start off like a pro! The Excalibur has a 5-year warranty.

It is great my sister and mother have the 9 tray version. The five tray is perfect size and fit for my counter top. It's able to make a full batch of cereal on five trays which is 6 cups total. Great for anyone that wants to dehydrate and not want a huge machine. Easy to use set the temp and wait. Book comes with recipes and you can find a lot online. We brought it because my son is on the SCD diet for UC and crohns.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

So glad finally got this dehydrator, I've been searching for a while now for a good one. It really did a great job with the cherry tomatoes and the apples, the bananas came out a bit sticky. I need to practice more. But the main complaint is that the fan is really loud. I need to have the radio on in the kithcken so I don't hear the loud noise, Either I have to get used to it or I have to move this to the Basement so I don't have to hear it. can't wait to start making raw crackers and breads.

make crunchy snacks to take with you,without bringing the whole fruit.Apples are great as well as a variety of fruits and berries.Thee are many "How To" videos from user's and you can use it to store survival rations in time of emergency.
