Comments about Precision Extreme Outback Log Cabin Dog House:

Bought one of the giant size doghouses for our large livestock guardian dog. He loved it but our other dog did too so they fought over who got to use it. We bought this second house to keep pease. They had Iglue dog houses but they like the a whole lot more.
My only con is that they get pretty roughed up in shipping. I had to do some repairs before I put the first one together. The second one only had some cosmetic damage.
They are super easy to put together. Well engineered for quick assembly.

Comments about Precision Extreme Outback Log Cabin Dog House:

When the product arrived there was damage to the box due to those handling the product after packing using the shipping straps as handles. This caused the straps to cut into the box as well as cutting into the product. All of which caused some blemish to the product and minor damage. Thicker packing material is needed as well as marking the box fragile and do not use straps as handles.

I was very pleased with how easily this doghouse went together. We bought it for an outdoor cat. We've been having lots of rain but every time we see him his is nice and dry! We also bought the insulation kit which I'll review separately.

Comments about Precision Extreme Outback Log Cabin Dog House:

This is one of the cheapest made dog houses I've ever seen. The floor and walls are made out of such thin material it feels like particle board. Cracks in the boards make it incredibly drafty, especially in the floor. I splurged on this because we have bitterly cold wind chills during winter. It was a HUGE waste of money!

Comments about Precision Extreme Outback Log Cabin Dog House:

I have always built ultra deluxe dog houses for my dogs because they lived outside. Now, because 1 has arthritis, they are sleeping inside and the bigger one needed a dog house for winter days when I'm at work. I followed the sizing instructions on the website and ordered a large dog house for my 85lb dog. The dog house seems too large for him to heat with his body heat. The dog house also seems rather flimsy for an 85lb dog that is all muscle so I would not recommend it for a very young dog that might still be interested in chewing on things. Also, it is not solid wood construction, but tongue and groove. this looks nice, but will be very cold in the winter. I also purchased the insulation liner and it is terrific--I should have purchased the pillow too. Finally, others have commented that the wood is quite thin and arrives with some dings. I found that to be true as well.

Comments about Precision Extreme Outback Log Cabin Dog House:

Product arrived as it should of and I've read about the easy setup and it was until the left side of the left side floor of the house was mfg correctly so it doesn't fit and now my dogs have a basement crawl space as well. Unfortunately the mfg doesn't seem to provide service so I don't know what to do now that it is already put together but this....

              Customer Q & A

              7 Questions About This Product
Q: "I have a husky in the Ft. Worth, TX area. Would it be better for me to get the Extreme Outback Log Cabin or the standard Outback Log Cabin?"
A: We would recommend the Extreme Outback Log Cabin for the highest desired comfort.   Both items have numerous similarities such as both being designed of fir wood, both houses assemble in 3 easy steps, and numerous size options are available.
Q: "How do I choose a size for a dog that is about 60 pounds? ?"
A: A medium sized dog house would be recommended as it can hold up to 70 pounds.
Q: "What size would work best for 80 lbs?"
A: The large size would hold up to 90 lbs.
Q: "Is this dog house appropriate for 20-30 degree temperatures?"
A: This dog house is only wood, and only 3/4 inch thick. With conditions like that, we suggest getting an insulation kit. The Log Cabin Style Dog House Insulation Kit, item number PPP092, goes with this dog house.
Q: "How big a house do I need for 3 stray cats?"
A: A small should do just fine.  If you wanted a little more room a medium would be more than enough room.
Q: "What is the difference between the Precision Extreme and the Extreme Outback Log Cabin Dog house?"
A: The difference is the the Extreme Outback Log Cabin with Black Trim is bigger than the Precision Extreme Outback Log Cabin Dog House.

Q: "What size dog house do I need for a St. Bernard?"
A: The Giant size option is recommended for dogs up to 200 lbs.
