For both my son and daughter, this swing was the only way they'd fall asleep early on... aside from being held. It's so adorable and soft. Lovely really! My only complaint is that the battery life on this swimg absolutely stinks no matter what kind of batteries we get! They last maybe a week or two. Terrible battery life. No matter... the tray and swing serve their purpose otherwise. We just sit next to them and pushthe swing.
