Comments about Flash Furniture 7600 Leather Massaging Recliner with Ottoman:
This is a comfortable, sturdy, reasonably attractive chair and ottoman set, at a good price, but there is not a stitch of leather on it. Even the label underneath indicates that it is man-made. Still, for the $160 I paid, I really couldn't expect a genuine leather chair. I just wish it had been honestly advertised.
It wasn't difficult to assemble, though it took about an hour and the directions are cursory. All the necessary tools were provided (two hex wrenches and a standard spanner). The base plate on the ottoman was the trickiest part to attach, since I needed to rotate it to find the best match for the four holes on the plate and the sockets on the ottoman. Even with that, it took a bit of fiddling to get the plate on good and tight. The rest of the assembly went smoothly, with only one other hitch. When I plugged it in, only the ottoman vibrated and the remote control didn't work. I simply unplugged the cables and replugged them in and from that point everything has functioned properly. The remote control offers many different combinations of "massage" (vibration of variable intensity), as well as simple manual settings.
I use this as my desk chair, though it's a bit low. I added a cushion to the seat to raise it and adhesive felt pads to the base to faciliate sliding on my wood floor, and to keep the elastic on the base cover from wearing away.
All said, I'm happy with the purchase. It's quite comfy, has good vibrations (sorry, couldn't resist), and reclines easily. I wish it had leather upholstery, but the pleather is soft and reasonably-realistic (though it has a strong chemical smell not unlike a new car).
