I'm really impressed with the look and quality of the workmanship for this futon. I also bought the drawers. I didn't realize that they don't actually attach to the frame- they are on wheels and just slide underneath. The storage capacity for the drawers is ok- not great. I'm able to store one pillow and bed sheets in one drawer and my toss pillows in the other drawer. My comforter will not fit in the drawers (I stow it in the storage ottoman instead). The frame is well-constructed and high quality wood- I was really impressed. I actually was able to put it all together by myself, but I would recommend 2 people to speed up the process as it took me a while alone to put it together. Separately I bought a very high quality mattress as this serves as my bed as well. The mattress may be a little oversized (queen mattress on a queen frame) as I'm having trouble changing positions on the futon. After watching the user video on the Night & Day manufacture's website I see they had a much lesser quality mattress that allowed easier position changing. Unfortunately the "bronze shoe fittings" are also not engaging correctly. I find myself struggling every time I change positions and one side of the frame slips out of the shoe fitting. It can be a real struggle to get it back in as well as the mattress is quite heavy. I really think this is because of the thickness/quality mattress I bought. I'm hoping it will just take some time to break in the mattress (create a more natural "fold") and over time it will get easier as spending 10-20 min each night before bedtime struggling with changing positions is not too fun. I would recommend a 6" mattress for this futon. I bought an 8" mattress and it's flush with the arm rest. Overall, I really do like this futon frame- I think I just bought a mattress that doesn't work well with the frame. The frame itself is very nice looking and high quality.

We use in the bonus room for teenagers to sit on. we also use for guests as a bed. the futon instructions were excellent and two teenagers (under 15) put this together with no adult assistance. The futon is a gorgeous color and design and opens up easily. we love it.
