Very pleased, the fit and finish of the wood is great, I put this together in about 30 minutes, looks like it costs more. The size is great for use on a small patio, like in our retirement community. [...] Before I found this site, I wasted time driving around town looking for a bench, to no avail.

I was so excited to get this, it was easier than expected to put together. My only real problem is USING it. The top boards do not just slide on and off individually. You have to have BOTH boards working together. So, right now I have pots sitting on one side and the other side cannot close. I cannot seem to explain it, just know that if you want to use the inside ONLY as storage it will work fine. If you plan on using the inside portion regularly it may be pretty inconvenient. I would not have bought this if I knew better.

Comments about Coral Coast Gardener's Choice Fir Wood Potting Bench:

Quick delivery, but upon arrival there was a horrible odor of chemicals coming from the box. After opening the box, the odor was much stronger. I would not recommend opening this inside of your home.

It was somewhat easy to assemble but I would recommend having an extra set of hands help you out. Do follow the instructions, if you tighten everything as you assemble, you will never get it together.

Once assembled, the item is very light weight and flimsy. I would be afraid to put a lot of weight on it. I don't know that I would recommend even putting a 2 cu ft bag of potting soil in it.

Oh well. You get what you pay for. I wanted inexpensive, but I got cheap....

Looks great, but I'm concerned it will not last. The wood is very soft, and there were splits and peeled veneer when I received it. I reglued the veneer on the inside shelf and will vanish it as well. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Comments about Coral Coast Gardener's Choice Fir Wood Potting Bench:

I had been wanting a potting bench and saw this..the price was great. The product came quickly, too. It needed to be assembled which wasn't a problem. While taking the boards out, we found several that needed gluing -including the floor board (H),which was two thin panels sandwiching another. My husband said it should be a solid board(s) instead. We glued it because it was such an inexpensive bench. It looks okay, but I'm pretty sure it won't last more than one season. Lesson: you get what you pay for!

The product description/Title declares this potting table to be made of FIR -- but with the visible markings in the wood, the knots, etc., it Sure Looks Like PINE to me ! I guess I'd recommend you buy this to use as an outdoor potting table, if you're willing to PAINT it to add protection from the outdoor elements.

Comments about Coral Coast Gardener's Choice Fir Wood Potting Bench:

I was able to put it together myself with the help of a few clamps without any trouble in about an hour and a half. I had no trouble identifying the parts either. This is really well made and sturdy and a great deal for the price! I'm going to put it in a 6 by 8 foot plastic covered greenhouse that I've ordered, so I shouldn't have any weather related problems.

BTW, I've ordered two Rubbermaid rubber tubs...20" x 15" by 5" deep that I will set in each well so I don't have any water problem in the bottom of the well.

                  Thanks Hayneedle!
