When I purchased it I thought it was going to be something I would have to buy again next year. But I was very surprised it was very well built and hefty enough to last for years. Thanks I will try you on my next purchase.

Excellent design. Wood is very soft but adequate for the purpose. Kit was missing a bolt and a bracket needed to be glued together. Assembly was straightforward but needed two people to assemble.

Comments about Coral Coast Gardener's Choice Fir Wood Potting Bench:

This is my 2nd purchase from Hayneedle. I bought a small garden shed last month (just love it and also wrote review) I already know the quality of the items they sell, I was very confident to make a purchase this time.

As I experienced with the previously ordered shed, instruction was not too clear so I had to guess how to put it together. Pre-drilled holes were not quite lined up so I had to make some adjustments also. It was a easy fix but would have been nice if I didn't have to do that.

After all, it came out good and works well in my needs. Great item for the price.

Comments about Coral Coast Gardener's Choice Fir Wood Potting Bench:

Flimsy and short lived, but what do you expect from mail order? Very cute and reasonably easy for one housewife to assemble on her own. As long as you don't break anything putting it together. Wood is a step up from Balsam if that's not what it is. Design works really well its just not going to hold up for many years. Would be better indoors with light use.

Comments about Coral Coast Gardener's Choice Fir Wood Potting Bench:

I bought my bench five years ago, and it's still going strong! This year we will have to replace the board inside the well since it is outside year round, and gets a lot of water. To keep water from collecting in it, we drilled holes to allow for drainage. Also, be sure to paint or weatherproof all pieces before assembling. We normally wrap a tarp around the bench to protect it during the winter, and have stained it once more in the past five years. I also use two plastic tubs inside the well to collect, and store, excess soil. I need to stain or paint it again this year. It's a great piece for the money, and if cared for properly will last a long time. I've since bought two more - one for each of my daughters. One daughter has hers under a large overhang on the roof of her house. It stays very shady, and protected from the weather. Hers has only been stained once, and still looks great four years later.

Comments about Coral Coast Gardener's Choice Fir Wood Potting Bench:

This was well packed and arrived very quickly. The instructions are good and I put it together myself fairly easily. Which was necessary because my husband took one look at the kit and recused himself on behalf of good carpenters everywhere. When assembled it was sturdier than I predicted but I don't expect it to last long especially if out in the weather. The wood is a step up from Balsa wood which is easy to screw into but causes it to crack and splinter at the ends. If you are not dead set on having that cute little back, choose a style without because that is the first place it's going to break off. There is a tongue and groove joint right above the table top. The price wasn't bad, and it sure beats squatting in the lawn filling pots. Now I just have to find the right size container to keep my potting soil dry and I'll be in business. I don't regret my purchase but I would feel alot better about it at $75-$80 range for this quality. Not many places you can buy a potting bench around here and if I use it a lot I will have a sturdier version built based on this.

I just assembled this yesterday and have to admit -- I am really pleased. It is exactly as pictured, went together with little difficulty, and really has helped me organize what had been a pretty dismal corner in my garage. I am looking forward to getting "dirty" this fall and winter!
