Rain barrels are a wonderful investment and go a long way to helping the environment, home owners, and communities. If you have a rain barrel, you can make it even more effective by adding a Good Ideas Rain Wizard Solar Pump. This specially designed pump works by siphoning water through a long hose that enters the barrel through the top. It then sends the water out through the pump and into your hose. This works well because it can work on barrels with or without spigots. If your rain barrel already has a spigot, this pump won't tie up the spigot, leaving it free for use with buckets and watering cans. The best part about the pump is that it is completely self contained. There is no hazard of dangerous electrical shock or need to plug the pump into an outdoor outlet. The solar pump can provide all the power to the enclosed Lithium-Ion battery which can pump 100 gallons of water at 13 PSI on a single 8 hour charge (direct sunlight). Single button operation turns the pump on and off and can be used to test the battery. The pump can even run dry without incurring damage.

- Battery does not work
I thought because this has a built in battery that I would be able to pump water sunshine or not. After charging the battery for 3 days in good sun, it would not pump water after dark. Repeatedly charged it and no luck. Works in full sun, but if you need to use after dark get something else.
