What blocks can do for your child ...

Motor skills:
Playing with blocks is all about perception and eye-hand coordination. This is an excellent way to work on their fine motor skills. You could also create a small stack of blocks or an obstacle course that your child could climb over or navigate through to enhance their gross motor skills.

Math:
Use blocks to show patterns of shape or color or demonstrate units of measure. Stack a tower 6 blocks high and show your child the difference between and one that's 4 blocks high. How many are left when you take two away?

Science:
Physics basics are easily demonstrated through block play. Show your child inclined planes and levers or build two different structures and see how different foundations withstand an "earthquake".
