Comments about All Other Brands|Checkolite International Home Design 1-Light Desk Lamp:
This was stated to be rated for 60W, but when it arrived it is clearly rated at 40W maximum. However, by using it as a torchere with base down and bulb up I am running 60W lamps with no problem. If you want downlighting you should stick with 40W bulbs, and this is not enough for reading or bedside use. Also note that small light (opposite of heavy) base makes this lamp easy to knock over with a little tap - it should only be used in a place where it won't get bumped or you could have a problem. If these issues are not a problem for you it is a good buy (I would buy it again).
