About Poly Lumber
Poly Lumber is a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic derived from post-consumer waste such as milk jugs and plastic packaging that would otherwise end up in a landfill. This material is then cleaned in a decontamination process to a high purity level. This purified recycled plastic is formulated with Ultra-Violet (UV) stabilizers and color pigments, and then formed into various shapes and profiles used to create environmentally friendly, maintenance-free pieces of furniture that will not fade. As I was assembling, from instruction that were tattered with rather poor pictures, I had not one, but two screw heads shear off during assembly! The first I was able to remove, given 10 minutes and a vise grip. The second required another drill hole and deck screws I had in the basement. Shoddy..

Comments about Classic Garden Bench:
The bench looks great and indeed looks like weathered teak except from VERY close. Construction was solid and the assembly instructions were easy to follow. The only problem with assembly is that the screws used have a star pattern on the heads. There is a screwdriver/drill bit included but the star pattern in the screws is not deep enough for the bit to "grip" the screw, so you almost strip the heads of the screws when tightening them fully. Also, using a power drill is impossbile for this reason. I ended up using my own bit with a ratchet to tighten it---which was quite cumbersome.
