Hudson Rocking Chair

I read the helpful reviews from others so was ready for the difficulty in assembling these chairs. And, they were difficult to assemble. The instructions that come with the chair are horrible so be sure to watch Hayneedle's video, although the estimate of 20 minutes is WAY off. I suggest not tightening the arms or anything but the rockers until it is all put together. The chairs also arrived damaged with split wood which required wood glue and clamps (I am hoping the glue holds the splits together since they are in the front rail and highly visible). Had I been able to find anything else on-line that I liked as much as these within this same price point, I would have ordered them, but there is nothing close in price to these more contemporary looking Adirondack rockers. If you can prepare yourself to receive damaged chairs and are VERY patient and stubborn, these chairs are really comfortable and look GREAT once all assembled, repaired, and oiled.

Had to order 8 total chairs in order get 4 that were not cracked. The ones that came undamaged needed re-drilling of many of the holes. Terrible experience overall and this is coming from a very capable person with tools and construction.

I knew I was taking a chance, but the pictured chair was perfect for my front porch. It looks comfortable and IS comfortable, however one of my chairs arrived with two huge splits in the wood. The package was only slightly damaged, but the splits did not come from this damage, but rather where the screws were probably put in too tight. Most of the reviews mentioned poor packaging and difficult assembly and I encountered both. In fact, I had to ask my handyman to finish the assembly of both chairs and to repair the split. The customer service was okay, but the discount offered to me to keep the chair was pitiful.

Chair great - but assembly wasn't. The delivery was quick. However, the packaging was second-rate. The chair came dusty with the styrofoam stuck to the chair.

The engineering isn't good - so matching the assembly holes can be difficult, depending on how you order the steps.

I spent about an hour on what I thought would be a 20 minute job. Better to have a helper since the chair is slightly heavy and unwieldy

These chairs, although very nice looking, are junk.
The holes are misaligned...the wood splits...the most frustrating assembly (attempted assembly) experience of my life. The only saving grace was exemplary customer service from hay needle. In summary...avoid these chairs, But deal with this company.
